Duty of public procurement or exposure to competition
The EU Public Procurement Directives and the Danish Tender Act provide rules for public procurement of goods, services or work contracts. The exact rules to be applied depend on the type of procurement.
Procurement of goods and services at a value of more than DKK 500,000 must be exposed to competition in accordance with the rules on the duty of advertising of the Tender Act.
If the value exceeds DKK 500,000, the procurement may be subject to the rules of the Public Procurement Directive. For 2012 and 2013 the EU-threshold value is DKK 1,489,820 for public procurement of goods and services (DKK 968.383 for state procurement).
